Add watermark to PDF

Runs in your browser · No data sent

Stamp a text watermark over every page of a PDF (or Word file) — adjust the colour, opacity, size, angle and tiling, then download. Nothing uploaded.

Drop a file here, or click to browse

Drop a PDF or Word (.docx) file — watermarked in your browser, never uploaded

How to use

Drop in a PDF (or a Word .docx file) and type your watermark text — common stamps like CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or COPY are one click away. Then fine-tune how it looks: colour, opacity, font size, rotation angle, and whether to place a single centred stamp or tile the text across the whole page.

When you're happy, click Apply to stamp the watermark onto every page and download the result. PDFs are watermarked directly as crisp vector text; Word documents are converted to PDF first, so the watermarked download is a PDF.

Everything happens in your browser — your document is never uploaded to a server, which makes this safe for contracts, invoices and anything confidential, and it works offline once the page has loaded.

Examples

Mark a draft

Stamp DRAFT diagonally across a document before sharing it for review.

Protect a sample

Add a tiled SAMPLE or DO NOT COPY watermark over every page of a portfolio or report.

Brand a handout

Use your company name at low opacity as a subtle watermark on a PDF handout.

Frequently asked questions

Can I watermark a Word document?

Yes. Drop in a .docx file and it's converted to PDF first, then watermarked — so the download is a watermarked PDF rather than an edited Word file.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The watermark is applied entirely in your browser using pdf-lib, so your document never leaves your device.

Can I change the colour, size and angle?

Yes. You control the watermark text, colour, opacity, font size, rotation and whether it's a single centred stamp or tiled across the page.

Does it watermark every page?

Yes. The watermark is stamped onto all pages of the document in one go.
